The Basic Values of the Catholic Church

Why the need for Catholic Truth Foundation?

Why the need to look at the basics of the Catholic Faith?

With the passage of time and the dealing with the affairs of this temporal world it is easy to forget or take for granted our relationship with God. It is right therefore that we should get back to the basics of our relationship with Him and indeed the Church. What are the basics of the Catholic Church?

In recent times scandals have arisen within the Church which may or will challenge our Faith so we need to be aware of the word of God as professed through the gospels.

CARDINAL MULLER in a recent sermon spotlighted the heavenly cure to the modernist disease currently plaguing the Catholic Church.

We believe that the Church as Our Blessed Mother forewarned is under an onslaught from Satan as never before.

That Satan has been so successful can be borne from the fact that prominent Church leaders have professed that in reality Satan does not exist.

We are also very much aware of the attempt to modernise the Church coming from the highest levels within the Church.

The crisis in the Church is manmade, and has arisen because we have cozily adapted ourselves to the spirit of a life without God," he explained, making the visible Church appear worldly.”

"The antidote against worldliness of the Church is the truth of the Gospel and starts with living by faith in the Son of God who has loved me and given Himself up for me," said the cardinal.

He expounded on the heart of the crisis: "The poison paralysing the Church is [the] opinion that we should adapt to the Zeitgeist, the spirit of the age, and not the spirit of God, that we should relativize God's commandments and reinterpret the doctrine of the revealed Faith."

The cardinal said that opinion is wrong and constitutes an abuse: "People trying to instrumentalise the Faith and the Church for their political agendas are not coming closer to the Faith, a Faith which they are in fact abusing."

Some think "the Catholic Church is lagging behind by 200 years compared to where the world is today" and are seeking "the new religion of world unity," said Cdl. Müller. The price for admission to this "meta-religion," he explained, is for the Church to forfeit Her truth claim.

The cardinal spelled out how the meta-religion being pushed is false:

“There is no religion which is somehow higher than the Church's faith in Jesus Christ. Instead, every time is immediate to God because it was in the fullness of time that God sent his Son, born of a woman. Jesus cannot be surpassed by the changing of times because God's eternity encompasses all eras of history and biographies of each person."

Recently Cardinal Cupich told us that Catholics need to change their religious beliefs. After receiving the Cdl. Joseph Bernardin Award September 29, Cdl. Cupich told the Catholic Theological Union that discernment of the current papacy "requires that we be prepared to let go of cherished beliefs and long-held biases."

What are those cherished beliefs he talks about and so called 'long-held biases'?

Are they allied to the same sex scandal concerning Cardinal McCarrick and others within but not exclusive to the American Church

All of this and much more are coming under the heading of  ‘modernising’  our Catholic doctrine and beliefs.

But all this all ties in with the warnings of Our Lady at various apparitions not all of which approved by the Church.

"The crisis in the Church is manmade, and has arisen because we have cozily adapted ourselves to the spirit of a life without God," he explained, making the visible Church appear worldly.”

Cardinal Baise Culpch

'the current Papacy - requires we be prepared to let go of cherished beliefs and long-held biases'

Matthew

This gospel begins with a genealogy of Jesus and a story of his birth that includes a visit from magi and a flight into Egypt, and it ends with the commissioning of the disciples by the resurrected Jesus

There is no doubt about the weakening of the faith, particularly in western society. At the same time the world is filled with natural disasters, raging bush fires and climate change.

Where IS Christ in all of this?

In seeking answers, there was a realisation which Cardinal Muller referred to that among many of the faithful there seemed to be a forgetfulness in the basic values of our love of God and our religion generally. A recent poll indicating a weakening of belief in and acceptance of the True Presence of the Blessed Sacrament.

We reflect on the Catechism which reminds us

Quote

1333 At the heart of the Eucharistic celebration are the bread and wine that, by the words of Christ and the invocation of the Holy Spirit, become Christ's Body and Blood. Faithful to the Lord's command the Church continues to do, in his memory and until his glorious return, what he did on the eve of his Passion: "He took bread...." "He took the cup filled with wine...." the signs of bread and wine become, in a way surpassing understanding, the Body and Blood of Christ; they continue also to signify the goodness of creation. Thus in the Offertory we give thanks to the Creator for bread and wine, fruit of the "work of human hands," but above all as "fruit of the earth" and "of the vine" - gifts of the Creator. the Church sees in the gesture of the king-priest Melchizedek, who "brought out bread and wine," a prefiguring of her own offering.

In the Church itself we find major problems in the college of Cardinals with open dispute between what some would call the modernisation of the Church. The revision of Scripture to make it more open to current day life.

However Our Blessed Mother warned us.......

Quote from Our Lady of Akita

"As I told you, if men do not repent and better themselves, the Father will inflict a terrible punishment on all humanity. It will be a punishment greater than the deluge, such as one will never have seen before. Fire will fall from the sky and will wipe out a great part of humanity, the good as well as the bad, sparing neither priests nor faithful. The survivors will find themselves so desolate that they will envy the dead. The only arms which will remain for you will be the Rosary and the Sign left by My Son. Each day recite the prayers of the Rosary. With the Rosary, pray for the Pope, the bishops and priests.

"The work of the devil will infiltrate even into the Church in such a way that one will see cardinals opposing cardinals, bishops against bishops. The priests who venerate me will be scorned and opposed by their confreres (other priests); churches and altars will be sacked; the Church will be full of those who accept compromises and the demon will press many priests and consecrated souls to leave the service of the Lord.

"The demon will be especially implacable against souls consecrated to God. The thought of the loss of so many souls is the cause of my sadness. If sins increase in number and gravity, there will be no longer pardon for them. "With courage, speak to your superior. He will know how to encourage each one of you to pray and to accomplish works of reparation. "

These warnings have been repeated in other apparitions.
